Happiness

"Happiness is a journey, not a destination. Happiness is to be found along the way, not at the end. For then the journey is over and it is too late. The time for happiness is today, not tomorrow."
—Joseph Smith Jr.

In the Lord's Way and Time

"I recognize that, on occasion, some of our most fervent prayers may seem to go unanswered. We wonder, 'Why?' I know that feeling! Iknow the fears and tears of such moments. But I also know that our prayers are never ignored. Our faith is never unappreciated. I know that an all-wise Heavenly Father's perspective is much broader than is ours. While we know of our mortal problems and pain, He knows of our immortal progress and potential. If we pray to know His will and submit ourselves to it with patience and courage, heavenly healing can take place in His own way and time."

Birthday Gift

For my birthday my Mom gave me an awesome gift! Everyday this year in my life I am going to receive a page from her that I put into a notebook. It's been so much fun seeing the different notes I have gotten so far. I am always excited to find them!! Here is a quote that I got last night that I really love:

Use your eyes as if tomorrow you would be stricken blind. Hear the music of voices, the song of a bird, the mighty strains of an orchestra as if you would be stricken deaf tomorrow. Touch each object as if tomorrow your tactile sense would fail. Smell the perfume of flowers, taste with relish each morsel as if tomorrow you could never smell and taste again. Make the most of every sense, glory in all the facets of pleasure and beauty which the world reveals to you through the several means of contact which nature provides.

The Sisterhood

For my birthday I got the DVD of "The Sisterhood of Traveling Pants". I LOVE that movie! My favorite "sister" experience is probably Tibby then Lena, Carmen, and Bridget. Here are some of my favorite quotes:

Bridget: [excitedly] Lena! Lena: [holding a picture of her and Kostas fishing] I know, isn't he gorgeous? Bridget: I was talking about you holding a fish!

Kostos: Some people show off their beauty because they want the world to see it. Others try to hide their beauty because they want the world to see something else. Lena: And what do you see? Kostos: Everything. [they kiss for the first time]

Tibby: How old are you, anyway? 10? Bailey: I'm 12! Tibby: Same thing. Bailey: No, when I was 10 I didn't have an iPod.

Carmen: [to her father's fiancee after trying out a bridesmaid dress for the wedding] You know what? Just forget about the dress. We can tell everybody that Carmen's Puerto Rican. And it never occurred to you she might be built differently. Or that, unlike you or your daughter, she has an ass that the tailor didn't have enough bolts of material to cover.

Tibby: Well what, what is she doing here? Tell me. Bailey: She's thinking. Tibby: She's thinking? I think she's trying to grow a brain, that's what.

and my personal favorite

Bailey: Maybe the truth is there's a little bit of loser in all of us you know, being happy isnt having everything in your life being perfect. Maybe it's about stringing together all the little things like wearing these pants, or getting to a new level of Dragon's Lair. Making those count more then the bad stuff. Maybe we just get through it. And that's all we can ask for.

Cast Away

On Wednesday I watched Cast Away at Adam and Xan's house all by myself. I really enjoyed it! There was a quote that I particularly like. After Chuck Noland is home he talks with a friend about his time spent on the island and says: One day logic was proven all wrong because the tide lifted, came in, and gave me a sail. And now, here I am. I'm back. In Memphis, talking to you. I have *ice* in my glass. And I've lost her all over again. I'm so sad that I don't have Kelly. But I'm so grateful that she was with me on that island. And I know what I have to do now. I have to keep breathing. Because tomorrow the sun will rise. Who knows what the tide could bring? ( I like the part in red!)

Sunrise

There are times that I wish that I had my camera. Well, today was one of those days and it happened before 7:30! There was a gorgeous sunrise this morning. The colors were amazing and the lighting was perfect.
